Wild Turkey Hunting Fully Guided Turkey Hunts At Island Plantation March 15 - May 1
Turkey hunting is unlike most hunting because it is a one-on-one situation. When that big old boss gobbler is cock of the roost, you are faced with a challenge that is unlike any that you have ever experienced. He is unpredictable in just about everything he does. There is no way to describe the excitement you feel when that old gobbler is gobbling his head off and you are sitting - waiting for him to fly down in your direction. Give him that low tree yelp. Will he ever fly down? Maybe! He may choose to rest two or three hundred yards away.
Of one thing you can be sure, turkey hunting is a sport of great challenge, patience, practice and a lot of desire to outwit that wise old gobbler. In all my years of turkey hunting, I have had only one turkey come to me within minutes of the time I had setup and began to call. Here at Island Plantation we do our best to supply you with memories of a lifetime in taking that wily old bird.
On a typical day of turkey hunting at Island Plantation, you wake up before daybreak, come to a breakfast of coffee and Danish rolls and discuss the morning's plan with your guide. You get your camo gloves, face net, gun, camo cushion, and boots and we take you into the woods. You and your guide will go to a good listning spot and listen for that old boss gobbler to wake up the woods with a resounding gobble-gobble-gobble!!! Now, you know where he is. It's time to quietly slip within about 150 yards and settle in for a very exciting hunt!!!
